A good jaali panel adds privacy without blocking light or air. The Abstract Mosaic Jaali Partition Panel uses a free-flowing pattern of rounded openings, a bit like stained glass or cracked stone. The left and right halves mirror each other, so the panel looks balanced while still feeling modern. Here are some practical tips for cutting and using it.

Where to Use This Jaali Panel

The most common use is as a room divider between living and dining areas or near a puja corner. It also works as a main gate or balcony grill insert, a window screen, a wardrobe or kitchen shutter, and a backlit wall panel behind a TV unit or bed. Shops, salons and restaurants use panels like this for reception walls and cabin partitions. Put two or three panels side by side and the pattern keeps flowing, so you get a wide screen without any visible break.

Material and Thickness Tips

For indoor partitions, 6 mm to 12 mm MDF or plywood is a good choice. 12 mm gives a stronger panel for full-height screens. Acrylic in 3 mm to 5 mm is good for backlit wall panels. For gates, balconies and outdoor grills, use 1.5 mm to 3 mm mild steel on CNC plasma or fiber laser, or WPC board, which handles moisture better than MDF.

Cutting Tips

The design has many closed shapes, so check that all vectors are joined before cutting. Cut the inner holes first and the outer frame last so the sheet does not shift. On CO2 laser, use air assist to reduce burn marks on MDF. On CNC router, use a 3 mm or 4 mm end mill for the small openings. If you scale the panel down, check that the thinnest bridges are still at least 4 to 5 mm wide in wood so they do not break.

Finishing Ideas

Sand the edges lightly and remove laser soot with a damp cloth. MDF panels look neat with white, ivory or grey PU paint, or with wood laminate on the frame. Plywood can be stained and finished with clear melamine polish. Metal panels need primer followed by powder coating in black, bronze or gold for long life. For a wall feature, mount the panel a few centimetres away from the wall and fix LED strip lights behind it. The light shining through the openings makes the pattern stand out at night.
